Configuring a USB digital still camera on Debian

I obtained a Kodak DX-4900 digital camera in 2002 and discovered it would not work “out of the box” on my Debian installation. Getting it to work involved messing around with the kernel’s USB configuration, but turned out to be a fairly straightforward process.

In early 2002, when discussing sharing office space with Praveen Sundaram of Pixel Computers, I drafted this framework for how the space should be managed between us and any future partners. We eventually did not co-locate as our independent careers pulled us in different directions and I put together a home office.
