The Freemap_ project aims to put high quality city maps online, free for all to access and update. Mumbai_ was the first Indian city, using data collected by CRIT_ and OpenLayers_ software.
As a result of the recent workshop_ in January 2007, there is now some action_ towards creating maps for [[Bangalore]], Pune and Ludhiana too.
